Orem, Utah, July 15, 2020 (Global News Agency) - Award-winning commercial furniture manufacturer MityLite delivered the second largest order in its 33-year history to the Hawaii Convention Center (HCC). The order includes 17,000 Encore banquet chairs, 600 ABS tables, 155 high-capacity stacking carts, 30 4-wheel comfort seat carts and 22 XpressPort table carts. All products are delivered, unloaded and assembled by MityLite employees within one and a half weeks.

Jeff Scott, vice president of sales at MityLite, said: "HCC employees have wanted new banquet chairs for a while. "We have worked with the center staff over 4 years to customize products and ensure that we deliver exactly what they need. s things. "   

HCC has used the same chairs for 30 years. They are outdated and no longer suitable for the design of the facility. They tried to replace these outdated chairs with stacked banquet chairs, which are both comfortable and include special functions to accommodate guests. It is also important to have chairs with good stacking density for easy storage.

“MityLite employees are creative and ensure that our ideas are incorporated into the chair design and that the integrity of the design is guaranteed and works properly,” said Teri Orton, general manager of HCC. "They did not hesitate to make a prototype chair and modify the design to meet our requirements and opinions."

The chair is customized with fabric to suit the decoration, and the cushion density is changed to make the chair softer and more comfortable. MityLite also increases the height of the chair back and a unique elastic backrest design to increase comfort. In addition, a wallet hook and shelf have been added to the frame so that guests can safely store items during the meeting. Even with the addition of shelves, the design of the chairs can be safely stacked 8 stories high.

"We also changed the leg design of the ABS table to include a wishbone leg instead of a standard meeting leg," Scott said. "They want the table to match their current inventory, and the wishbone legs will fit better, because many people in Hawaii wear open-toed sandals. We want to avoid bruising the toes."

The staff at HCC are getting familiar with the new trolleys and trolleys, which are also customized for chairs and tables.
