A woman is dead and a man is in critical condition following a double-shooting on the afternoon of June 16 in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Police responded to a 911 call a little after 1 pm Thursday at 445 Pulaski St., between Stuyvesant Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, and in the second-floor apartment found two people on the floor, unconscious, unresponsive, and riddled with bullet wounds.

A woman who had been shot numerous times was pronounced deceased on the scene, while a 53-year-old man with a wound in the back was taken to Kings County Hospital in critical condition.

The NYPD has taken in a male “person-of-interest” into custody in relation to the brutal slay, and the alleged murder weapon was recovered nearby on Broadway and Hart Street, though whatever motive could have prompted such an attack remains unclear.
