Whether you're extremely familiar with computers or have never cracked one open in your life, this list should give you some helpful suggestions for how to improve your PC-user experience. Keep an eye out for something that can solve a problem in your life you had forgotten you had!

Is your computer tower just sitting on the floor beside your desk, or somewhere under it? You probably dread having to pull it out to clean behind it. When was the last time you did that? Be honest.

You're in need of a computer tower stand. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, but the premise is always the same: you raise your computer tower off the ground, usually meaning it gets put on wheels, too, in order to have easier access to it for plugging things in, moving it to clean, and much more. Some do the bare minimum, while others come equipped with drawers, cable management, or other bonuses.

If you've done your research about building your own computer, or have done it once before, you're probably aware that most of the good ones use dedicated GPUs. This component is dedicated to managing your computer's graphics so that the CPU doesn't have to do all that work by itself. So, why take the burden of graphics off of your CPU and not the burden of audio?

That's what a sound card is for. To be fair, you don't really need a dedicated sound card unless you do serious music or audio development or you really want to be able to hear someone's footsteps in a video game. However, if you have a little money and can splurge on something nice, then treat yourself to the audio experience of your life.

If you've seen a computer monitor in the vertical position on anyone's desk before, it was probably a programmer's setup and it was full of code. However, have you ever considered how much benefit you might get out of this orientation? If you read a lot of documents, for example, you could see more of the text on one page at once in the vertical orientation.

Some monitors come prepared to be set up vertically if that's the way you prefer them, but you may need to buy a new back and/or riser to put other monitors in the vertical position. Be sure to double-check before you buy.

Are you as annoyed as we are with all the cables around your computer tower? There are things plugged into the front, things plugged into the back... where does it end?!

Enter: a USB hub! It can't solve all your problems, but it can really help. Dongles for your wireless mouse and keyboard, headset, phone chargers, and more can all be plugged in in one convenient location. They also come in dozens of different designs, so you're bound to find one that fits your setup.

Combine this accessory with the last one and all your cable management problems will be solved! Cable management trays attach to the bottom of a desk, bookshelf, or another sturdy surface to facilitate all the various cords you need to send to your computer or a power outlet.

Trust us, you'll be thankful when you're not tripping over all your cords and you see how clean your floor looks. It's one of those things that you don't realize is so cluttered until it's gone, and you wonder how you ever lived before!

If you do a lot of dedicated gaming at your computer, you have to unplug and then plug in your various systems a lot. This will get tedious without delay. There's a reason that the HDMI plugs are on the backs of the computers, consoles, and monitors you're using.

Save yourself the hassle and purchase an HDMI Splitter. It allows you to instantly feed multiple HDMI inputs to your monitors! You can change between the inputs with just the press of a button on the splitter or its controller. The ones with lots of alternate inputs are the most expensive, but if you're just adding one thing to your setup, like a Nintendo Switch, you can buy cheap versions.

Have you noticed that your fans suddenly kick into action, but all you did was open a web browser? Or that they aren't running hard enough when you're playing a graphically-intense video game? A fan controller may be the answer to these problems.

Fan controllers allow you to manually set the speed of the various fans in your PC to suit your present needs. They can vary widely; some are dials, others are touchscreens, still others are just software! Do your research to pick something perfect for you, and you won't be disappointed.
