Dezeen showroom: designer Hugo Gaveau exhibited at Maison & Objet and created a rustic dining table for French furniture company Oakâme, which is made of reclaimed oak beams.
The Bocuse dining table is one of a series of products provided by the French furniture and design fair Maison & Objet.
The dining table is made of old wood recovered from 19th and 20th century buildings in Eastern Europe.
Some tables are made of aged Quercus Ilex evergreen oak beams and planks, which come from abandoned barns in Croatia in the 1880s.
The table is also made of stainless steel, coated with anti-rust paint, and made by metal workers in Lille, France.
Each table is equipped with a registration card that allows users to track the source of the table's solid oak beams, which can be accessed via the NFC function on the smartphone.
The Bocuse dining table does not use wood varnishes or man-made products, which means that the natural appearance and texture of the wood will be preserved over time.
The table is suitable for indoor and outdoor use, and can be customized to suit any indoor environment.
