REVIEW – I have used a cheap Ikea office chair as my desk chair for over 10 years so I jumped (or is it sat?) at the chance to review the E-Win Racing Knight Series KTB Gaming Chair. Let’s see if the E-Win Knight will be an upgrade or if I should stick with my Swedish seating.
The E-Win Racing Knight Series KTB Gaming Chair is an office/gaming chair with a back that can decline from 85 to 155 degrees. It has adjustable height armrests, an adjustable height seat, and a locking full tilt mechanism.
The E-Win Racing Knight Series KTB Gaming Chair follows the typical gaming chair style in that it has a little taller back than a regular office chair and can lean much farther back. It is made of what E-Win describes as Cold Cure high density foam which is supposed to be 2x heavier than regular foam and it is wrapped in PVC leather. It has height adjustable armrests, soft glide 2 inch caster wheels, the seat height is adjustable, and has a back that can lean from 85 to 155 degrees with 18 locking positions. Once in those positions, the tilt mechanism allows it to still rock back about 10 degrees.
It arrived adequately packaged and after laying everything out I discovered the instruction manual was in Spanish and for a different style chair. I looked for the correct and preferably English manual on their website but all I could find was a generic video, however with the video and the pictures from the included manual I was able to put it together relatively quickly. I will admit that as a big tool guy I never use the included metric Allen wrenches and I always use my own ratchet and Allen sockets. The bolts on the bottom of the seat where you attach the tilt mechanism do take quite a bit of torque so that saved my hands. If you don’t have a ratchet and Allen sockets I would recommend using a small pipe or using a towel or the gloves that are included to somewhat cushion your hands when cranking down on the bolts.
After using it daily for a few weeks the initially stiff tilt mechanism loosened up and with the resistance knob underneath the seat I was able to customize how much force is required to rock back. The seat height lever doubles as the locking mechanism for the rocking. Just push it in if you want to lock it and pull it out to resume rocking. The seat foam is still a little stiff which makes sense if the foam they use is two times heavier than regular foam. I do hope it loosens up a little bit with more use but otherwise, the rest of the seat is pretty well formed and comfortable.
The lower back pillow isn’t connected so you have to place it where you need it or you remove it completely. The armrests have a little cushion and are formed nicely for your arms and allow a good range of height adjustment. The casters glide very well and even rolled on my upstairs carpet fairly easily.
The E-Win Racing Knight Series KTB Gaming Chair’s wide degree of lean allowed me to find the most comfortable position while gaming for extended periods. It leans so far back you can even take a nap. The subtle color scheme and styling are cooler than a normal office chair but not too over the top to feel like I had to get a different chair for work-related video calls. If you are in the market for a new chair the E-Win Racing Knight Series deserves some serious consideration.
