The Totnes Rare Variety Farm in South Devon has been listed for sale with an offer price of more than £700,000. The freehold sale includes a farm, a cafe, and a second-level protected two-bedroom owner's cottage with a garage workshop, all covering about two acres. The sale was handled by the real estate company Bettesworths as the sole agent. Bettesworths described the farm as "an amazing family and income opportunity, located in an idyllic semi-rural location, but on the edge of the popular market town of Totnes in South Devon." Totnes Rare Breeds Farm has a wide variety of rare Animal species, including dwarf goats, owls, and alpacas. The farm includes several paths leading to a series of different enclosures and outbuildings. Other features include woodland trails, newly renovated pet corners and hatcheries, and several private buildings, including more paddocks and two independent stables. The Garden Café is open to the public, and customers do not need to visit the farm. The cafe area itself has a fully equipped commercial kitchen that can accommodate 16 to 20 customers. There is also an adjacent outdoor covered seating area that can accommodate approximately 42 people, and the outdoor garden has 10 picnic benches. Totnes Rare Breeds Farm opened in 2002 and is a mature company with strong turnover, operating from March to the end of October every year. The company's current business hours are from 10 am to 5 pm, with an owner, two full-time managers and additional volunteers to help. The seasonal staff of this cafe is between 8 and 12 people. According to Batesworth, as with many other tourist attractions, the business's turnover has declined due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, the real estate agent stated that after reopening in April 2021, the business rebounded strongly and turnover returned to previous levels. Bettesworths stated that the specific transaction data of the business will be provided to interested parties after the formal review, which can be arranged through the agency.
