COP26 is a vanity project designed for the children of global elites and eco-alertists who have never paid taxes

It is said that toxic gases are destroying the earth.

If this is the case, then after several days of COP26 emissions in Glasgow, our planet is likely to be doomed.

Less than two years have passed since Boris Johnson won a majority of 80 seats in the Conservative Party.

Surprisingly, since then, the biggest policy idea he has had is, as he said, to spread millions of pounds against the wall by holding another green marathon-style carnival.

All aspects of meetings such as COP26 are the same.

The world’s political elites flew in on private jets and told us others that we should reduce commercial air travel.

Each time, their warnings were so terrible that it sounded more and more like a street missionary wearing The End Is Nigh sandwich board.

Usually they tell us that we only have a few years left to live.

This time, Johnson tried his best to tell us that there is only one minute left on the earth and we are doomed.

This is so ridiculous and so obvious that it is no surprise that many of us simply shut down.

Or in the case of US President Joe Biden, falling asleep.

At the opening ceremony, when delegates were told that they were attending one of the most important meetings in history, they could see Biden taking a nap.

This caused some criticism, but I don't blame him. The eco-alert makes himself completely absurd.

They screamed the end of the world year after year. But the only thing that really overheats is their language. And their absurdity.

The big news this week is that Leonardo DiCaprio flies to Glasgow for the conference.

As we all know, there are no big problems in the world that actors cannot solve.

Elsewhere, the medieval-style ecological doomsdayist Greta Thunberg appeared and published her usual doomsayer curse.

I suspect that the people attending these caning festivals may not know how ridiculous they are in the eyes of people outside the hall. Or the rest of the world rarely cares.

Time and time again, events like COP26 have proven to be just another vanity project for the global elite. CEOs of big companies such as Jeff Bezos joined in.

Why? Just to show that they also joined the weird clergy of eco-religion.

What does that religion require?

Well, at present, countries like this are working hard to become carbon neutral economies.

Even if possible, it will take many years.

However, vanity projects such as COP26 require bloated gestures. So we see world leaders saying that they will achieve carbon neutrality by the end of this century or earlier.

All this is impossible. Or at least, if we do not have massive power shortages and huge, skyrocketing energy prices, this is impossible.

The President of the United States this week reiterated his commitment that his country will achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Will the public pay the ransom? Not very much.

Because the upcoming cost is huge. A recent study in the journal Nature showed that Biden’s pledge would cost each U.S. citizen more than $11,000 a year.

Another recent survey showed that most Americans are not even willing to pay $24 a year for this kind of fun. It's the same in the UK.

It is worth noting how many eco-warners are young people. Usually, literally, kid.

One reason they are so enthusiastic about their beliefs is that they have never paid their tax bills. Or any other. They think that money comes from heaven, or at least their parents.

Once they realize that they will never have the pleasure of owning a house, let alone isolate it, maybe they will realize the totally unrealistic demands of the Glasgow crowd.

Nevertheless, ecological elites are still emerging. There are some huge, embarrassing blank spaces on the table. For some of the world’s biggest polluters, boycott the Glasgow Conference.

China has no intention of stopping its economic growth by promising zero carbon.

African countries do not think that it is their right to develop like the previous northern hemisphere countries.

China alone is building hundreds of coal-fired power stations. They will not stop because of the Glasgow Summit.

They will not impoverish their people again because of the demands of a strange little Scandinavian doomsday.

On Tuesday, Biden criticized the Chinese Communist Party for not attending.

Our own special envoy, Alok Sharma, has tried to persuade the Chinese to obey, but failed. They didn't, and they won't.

Convening a carbon reduction conference without the Chinese is like conducting a trial without a defendant. There is no point in yelling, grandstanding, and reputation polishing.

At least the Zimbabwe delegation used this opportunity to conduct a booze cruise with almost no disguise.

So what should we do?

We should maintain our own energy supply as independently as possible.

We should persuade India and China to cut production, but don't expect them to do so.

We should redouble our efforts to develop green energy so that energy prices are lower than fossil fuels.

Oh, we should ban future events like COP26.

It's not just that they make the global elite look so bad. Or it shows that our own Conservative government has almost no serious ideas of its own.

But because of the hot air they produce.

Let the earth rest. The rest of us too.
