BETHALTO — Gallatin's Basketball Player of the Year award dinner needs help.

On November 13, the annual Riverbend Basketball Awards Dinner will be held at The Brick Hall in Bethalto. The door opens at 6pm and there are trivial matters from 7pm to 10pm. The table can hold up to 8 players at a cost of $100. Brick Hall is a boutique style venue adjacent to Laux Brickhouse Grille at 212 N. Prairie St. in Bethalto.

The prize draw and the 50/50 draw will also be used to raise funds for the basketball banquet, which is scheduled to be held on March 20, 2022 at the Best Western Premier Hotel in Alton. There will be a cash. Outside drinks are not allowed, but participants can bring their own snacks.

The banquet, named after Naismith Hall of Fame member and Roxana High School graduate Harry Gallatin, will celebrate its 75th edition in 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the celebration has been shelved since 2019. It pays tribute to boys and girls basketball players from Alton, Marquette Catholicism, Civic Memorial, East Altonwood River and Roxana.
